Vayakhel/Pekudei
“He gathered/Countings” Exodus/Shemot 35:1-40:38
Moshe gathered the people and told to work six days and
have rest on the seventh day. He told them that they were
not allowed to kindle a fire in their dwelling places on
the Sabbath day. Moshe told the people to make a contribution
to Yahweh. Whoever was of a generous heart was to bring
gold, silver, bronze, blue and purple and scarlet yarns,
find twined linen, goat's hair, ram's skins, goat skins,
acacia wood, oil, spices, onyx and stones. Craftsman were
told to come and make
things for the tabernacle of the Lord. All the people whose
heart was stirred came and brought the Lord's contribution.
This was a freewill offering to Yahweh. Bezalel (the son
of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Yahudah) was called
by name and filled with the Ruach HaChodesh (Holy Spirit)
and
